Vote For My WebTV Show Co-Host
We are putting the final touches, set, equipment and segments together for my new webtv show, however I decided recently that we need to add one more thing- I don’t want to talk to and with myself, therefore I decided to bring on a co-host. I would greatly appreciate your help by going to the link below, it will take you to my Facebook page where you can view each one minute video and then choose one to vote for. You can only vote one time and for one video and remember if you don’t vote then you can’t complain (hehee).
On another note- what about you? What are you doing in 2012 with video, digital or mobile marketing? I would love to hear.
More to come from me, I am diving into as much as I can so that I can share only the best business and relationship building sites, technologies and tips with YOU!
Thank you for stopping by,

Time for NEW Headshot photos!
When it comes to a personality brand image, there is nothing more important than keeping your personal headshot photos up to date AND choosing an experienced photographer. I recently hired a local photographer- Melissa Fitzpatrick and spent an afternoon with her sticking a camera in my face. Although I am constantly in the spot light when speaking and on media interviews, I actually have a very hard time taking photos (hence wanting vino for every photo shoot).
I found the experience this round to not only be fun and educational but no vino was needed. Melissa immediately made me feel at ease and was beyond prepared by bringing lighting equipment with her, a pack with all of her equipment AND she had already checked out places to go with different backdrops in the downtown area.
When my photo link came back today I was shocked at how many photos she took and more importantly I actually found more than one that I liked. She knew just how to position me and the 50 lb lighting that she was carrying around.
I would LOVE your opinion on which one you think I should change to on my sites and branding…at least for the next 6 months.
A few different looks- I lettered them. Thank you so much for your feedback. And HEY- when is the last time you had your photos done? Hmmmmm….

What in the SOPA!?!?!?
I recently came across postings and protests on SOPA- Stop Online Privacy Act and PIPA- Prevent Intellectual Privacy Act and I wanted to share a few links with you on this stuff. Not only did this catch my attention, but the viral outreach is fascinating. I love how the Washington Post covers the story- “This is what happens when you make the internet mad.”
Here are a few articles that you can read to get informed on what it is all about. Interesting not only what is being proposed but how internet sites are responding and protesting. What are your thoughts on this?

Seven Tips for Marketing a Business With Video
Here it is, my latest column with Entrepreneur.com- (PS- stay tuned for more info and posts on/about my upcoming webtv show, oh yah it’s gonna be some biz building fun!)
COLUMN: As more people use the Internet in search of information, online video becomes increasingly important for reaching and connecting with followers, fans and customers. Video’s rise in power as a marketing tool is due to its attractiveness to web surfers. By adding a smile and a friendly voice, you can build rapport with your customers faster and help them relate to your business on a more personal level.
Video connects customers on a deeper level because it covers and reaches out to different types of learning styles: the visual where people learn by reading or seeing demonstrations of a product or service and the auditory where people connect by listening to audio.
Videos also help sites show up higher on the search engines. Browsers and search engines are becoming savvier and are spending less time reading endless web pages of text. Instead, they are picking up on keywords tagged on videos appearing on sites.
As a growing business, it is important that you integrate video into your online marketing efforts. Even if you start with a basic video tip on how to best use your product or service, just get it recorded and post it to YouTube, your own website and/or blog. Although most people like humor and creativity, they also like messages that help them save time or money or makes their life easier, and that’s what you can provide.

If you know your product and your clients and can push yourself hard, you can become your own publicist, says social media authority and author Starr Hall.
Tech Sunday: At first glance, using social media as a marketing tool looks easy. But is it?
Starr Hall: There is definitely an art to using social media for marketing purposes, to grow your business and to build a personal reputation. In this digital relationship age, it is vital to learn online language and communication so that you can build credibility and long-term relationships.
Once you learn the art, it can be easy depending on how you approach it on an ongoing basis. If you stay involved online, it will get easier and less time consuming – however, if you only browse now and then and post a few times here and there, you will be on a hamster wheel and eventually become very tired with little to no results surfacing from your efforts or lack of.

Top Five Mistakes with Social Media
A simple and basic column this month, I thought we needed to get back to some of the basics being that I have seen a TON of people still making these online. Iyyahhh!!!! so here goes:
No matter how you slice it, reaching out, connecting and having conversations with customer online costs a business owner time and money. Could your social-media efforts be yielding better results?
Here’s a list of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen business owners make with social media and how to avoid them.
1. Talking One-Way: Many business owners start posting status updates because they think that is all they need to do to grow their company online. But the way they do it cuts off any chance of having a two-way conversation. In today’s messaging marketplace, consumers want to be heard. If you are just talking to customers but not letting them to talk back and engage with you, then you are wasting considerable time and effort online.
