About Starr (That’s me!)

I decided to write my own bio because after all no one knows me quite like myself. So here goes, I am an international publicist (which means I advise companies around the globe on how to get powerful publicity for their business) and an “authority in social media marketing” (Yep, Fox Business News said that, although I prefer marketing advisor but hey I will take it!). I have trained and worked with thousands of entrepreneurs and businesses around the planet including corporations, non-profit organizations, authors, CEOs and associations worldwide. I have over 1200 active and direct relationships with editors, writers and segment producers worldwide ( took me 10 years but I did it, I love picking up the phone and talking with my editor friends at LA Times or Harpo) and I have secured placement and coverage for myself as well as my clients in media outlets around the globe, including Oprah mag, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America and The Today Show to name a few ( I don’t mean to brag but I worked my butt off for these placements). In addition, I have secured major book, co-branding and licensing contracts for my clients worldwide through the power of social networking (I’m tellin you, social media works!).

With hundreds of client recommendations, media endorsements and speaking accolades (I am so grateful and okay this is a bit braggy but my editor wrote this and it sounds so good!), I specialize in helping my clients get massive media coverage, word of mouth buzz and higher profits through social media and powerful internet and relationship marketing (My friends I am here to tell you it doesn’t happen overnight, however when the results start to surface, it so rocks!). I am a regularly featured columnist for Entrepreneur magazine dot com (I LOVE THEM! and I am truly honored to be on their team) as well as American Express Small Business OPEN. I have two books out with Entrepreneur Press- Get Connected, The Social Networking Toolkit for Business AND The Social Wave- Why Your Business is Wiping Out With Social Media & How to Fix it.

Lastly, a bit of personal FYI about me- I have a great passion for culinary (aka yummy food, check out me stuffing my face below- mmmm real Italian pizza in Florence) around the globe, I love to travel and learn family recipes from locals that I meet, go into every restaurant, pub, bistro and pizzeria that I can and enjoy not only the food but the hospitality, culture and conversation. This year, I decided to open my very own restaurant after dreaming and talking about it for over a decade (www.facebook.com/cuveeanddelights). In between running my new restaurant and champagne bar, I continue to focus on helping businesses around the globe grow to higher levels by holding them accountable to take action every single day, teaching them how to market online and off and have fun doing it. My new WebTV show launches in 2012, I can’t wait to share it with you.
